Immigration...Legal vs Illegal

I am whole heartedly for LEGAL immigration, although it should be annually capped, and I am fiercely opposed to the ILLEGAL immigration disaster that has gripped this country. The borders MUST be closed and protected against intruders (illegal aliens) by whatever means necessary, with extreme prejudice. As an analogy, you can not just walk into my house whenever you want, you must knock on the door, ask to enter and be invited in. You do not sneak into my house and help yourself to my stuff! That is breaking and entering and theft. So, you do not sneak into America, help yourself to goods and services, and defraud society and lie about your intentions, identity and background in order to receive them. This very same act, in any other situation or context, would be considered a felony crime and severely punished by all countries of the world.

If you want to legally and permanently immigrate to the United States of America, I believe there are five things that you must want to do:

1. You must want to become a good and honest American citizen and go then through the proper legal channels to do so.

2. You must want to learn English in order to receive goods and services. This includes your family members.

3. You must want to be employed and pay your share of taxes.

4. You must want to be a contributing member to society. Obey the law of the land. Do not purposefully become a physical and economic burden on your community.

5. You must want to defend the United States if asked to. Uphold and support it’s ideals, Constitution and the US Military, register for the draft if it is required of you and if ever drafted, be willing fight for your country. Remember, you are an American now, act like it!

Anything that goes against these five principals is not compatible with being a good US citizen. It isn’t right, justified or appropriate to demand otherwise of these things if you do not want to ascribe to these principals of being a loyal and legal citizen. There is much more to being an American than just being here. It is a state of mind.
